Celebrating Black women in the arts
A dedicated directory for event organisers, bookers, commissioners and audiences who want to find exceptional talent across music, dance, poetry, visual arts, film and beyond.

Search by art form, location and budget.
Our mission
Black Women in the Arts exists to ensure that Black women artistes are seen, celebrated and chosen — not as an afterthought, but as the first call.
We built this directory to create a clearer path between talent and opportunity. Whether someone is booking a performer, commissioning an artist, or looking for a collaborator, BWA makes discovery feel direct, intentional and respectful.
“This is more than a directory. It is a professional home for visibility, recognition and access.”BWA Founder

How it works
The directory is designed to help organisers and commissioners move from discovery to enquiry without friction.
Browse by art form, location or budget to narrow the field quickly and find profiles that fit the brief.
Explore media, experience, reviews and profile information so you can compare options confidently.
Reach out directly from the artist profile and start the conversation without unnecessary gatekeeping.
Once the fit is right, move ahead with the booking and leave a review to help future bookers.
